A Few Things I Know to Be True

After over a decade doing this, I believe strongly that:

Simple is harder than complex. Anyone can make something sound complicated. My job is finding the strong, simple idea underneath, the one a range of audiences can actually understand and act on.

Systems outlast campaigns. I'd rather build the process, the style guide, the editorial calendar that makes good work repeatable than chase one great piece of content that no one can replicate.

Numbers keep stories honest. I track, test, and refine. If I can't tell you what a piece of content did, I haven't finished the job.

The uncomfortable conversation is usually the useful one. I don't avoid hard conversations with executives or collaborators; that's often where the real story, or the real problem, is found.

None of it works without people. Cross-functional trust and real collaboration build the thing that a good headline can't.
